They don't offer enough to be worth the money when compared to ON. Evernote has the usual text formatting tools, and it allows you to embed tables, files, and pictures on your notes. So yeah it really just comes down to that money, they are pretty equal to me. OneNote has more note-creation tools than Evernote. I've lived just fine without tags for the last year or so, I'm pretty organized. Compared to Evernote’s free version, OneNote has all of its advanced features available for free and it doesn’t limit your bandwidth or note size. They are planning to add passwords to mobile. When I originally swapped to OneNote they didn't offer good android handwriting input options, but it looks like that has been added since (dunno how improved it is though). Web clipping is one of the features that Evernote excels at and OneNote lacks.The program provides a web-clipper extension for Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, and Firefox however, it lacks many. The only thing EverNote currently offers that I could ever want is better tagging/searching, mobile passwords, and maybe some overall faster performance. I think there was also a limit on # of notebooks when I used it? Don't see anything about that on the evernote website now though. Then for their Premium account they limit the ability to annotate PDFs and version history. OneNote is completely free now, but EverNote (among other things) limits your upload size and your offline access to their Plus account. The biggest "nope" was the limitations for paid accounts. I thought about going back to EverNote recently, toyed with the idea and version.
