I dafs and found that other people have had this same issue with DK1 and DK2. I then uninstalled zone alarm and my rift started working again. I did try restarting the config utility while it was malfunctioning and it did not work. I went into the firewall properties and allowed every property that could be configured for ovrservice and the config util. It immediately resumed its former bad behavior. I uninstalled it on both machines and these errors went away.Īpparently Avast isn't the only problem child.Īs an experiment I reinstalled just the firewall Zone Alarm with a working system. Oculus service not available and it wouldn't recognize my rift. I had zone labs antivirus/firewall running on both of my machines. I posted this elsewhere but figured it deserved a larger audience.
